Q. How long have you been teaching?  This is my 21st year in the public schools.

Q. What grade do you teach?

 4th grade

Q. How has your first half of the school year gone with BL implementation? 

 At first, I wasn't sure how the rotation model would work.  After really sticking with the rotations and making minor adjustments here and there, it has been a fantastic experience.  The planning is much easier than I imagined, especially with DreamBox and Achieve 3000.

Q. How has BL changed your thoughts about teaching?

 I've been teaching off and on since 1985, and for the first time in my teaching career, I feel like I am truly reaching every child in my class, every day.   I'm more in tune with each student's individual needs, whether it is enrichment or intervention.  As an AIG teacher, this makes the homeroom model so much easier to implement because whether a student has weaknesses or needs more advanced curriculum, I can provide that daily.

Q. If you had one word to describe BL what would say and why?

 Innovative.  Allowing students the freedom to use technology, move around during instruction and collaborate with their peers has transformed the educational environment in my classroom without making me feel like I've had to work overtime to make the change happen.  I think we are implementing a cutting edge best practice.   In a word, I love it!
