Day 88: Today we had our district data presentation. The last five presentations admin predominantly shared all the information to district personnel. We have incorporated a practice this year of having monthly data meetings with our grade level chairs who comprise our data team. The grade level chairs at Hanford Dole are a team of great leaders who make such an impact on their grade levels and on our school. For our district data presentation we let our data team of grade level chairs present the data to district personnel. It was such an amazing presentation by our teachers. Below are the top ten things I learned from the presentation. Order is not related to position.
1. 21st century Teachers are so talented and skilled in so many areas.
2. A team of teachers working together is powerful.
3. A leadership team needs to be given the opportunity to LEAD! Admin get out of the way!
4. One portion does not make a feast. When every body brings their portion(their insight)--it is a FEAST!
5. Admin might know data very well but the teachers know their data very, very well! Give them a chance to share it with you.
6. Apple TV's are a great device for teacher presentations and collaboration.
7. If you want your school to move like lighting, empower your teachers! They will move it so much faster than you think you can on your own! Teachers make the biggest impact!
8. Blended learning is the best instructional model on the market!
9. Customized and adaptive online programs need to spend more time in the classrooms to get teacher feedback on how to improve their programs.
10. Teaching is still the best and most noble profession on the planet! What a great time to be a teacher!
