BLENDED LEARNING TEACHER OF THE WEEK: MS. RAMISTELLA

Q. How long have you been teaching? This is my first year teaching!  

Q. What grade do you teach? I teach 3rd grade :) 

Q. How has your first year gone with BL implementation? Blended learning has been great! I am able to personalize assignments to ensure each student feels successful in the classroom. BL also allows me to work closely with each student to build upon skills and relationships.     

Q. How has BL changed your thoughts about teaching? Instead of always teaching whole group, BL allows me to incorporate many types of instruction to accommodate for the different learning styles in my classroom. 

Q. If you had one word to describe BL what would say and why? Engaging. With the BL model we use at HDES, students are constantly staying engaged in lessons and learning at their own pace. Students are always finding new apps to share with us to use in the classroom, which shows their excitement for BL! 

Day 112 Character/Hero Day Incentive

Day 112: Every month we have a school wide incentive to promote our Bobcat Expectations of Respect, Responsibility, and Do the Right Thing. 2nd grade chose this month's incentive. They chose dress like your hero or a character from a book. Awesome teachers make a school awesome. Check out some of the pictures from our teachers who dressed like a hero or character from book. What a great way to model and promote our Bobcat Expectations. Incentives like this keep the students motivated and excited to come to school. Looking forward to seeing what the next incentive will be!

Day 111: Raising your game!

Day 111: So impressed with teachers who continue to raise their game as the year goes on. As the year builds, great to see those who are doing their best work as we continue on our blended learning journey. I even saw a paperless K math lesson today. Think back 5 years ago. Do you think you would have saw a K paperless classroom? Great to see teachers moving forward! Highlights are below.
