Day 106--Blended Learning Math

Day 106 gave me a fresh appreciation of the way math content can delivered through blended learning. Being in a 5th grade math class and a 1st grade math class and watching the students being guided by teachers who are facilitating the learning as opposed to whole group and lecture style is so transformational. As I reflect on the way math has been taught for the last 75 years and the amount of students who didn't pursue higher studies because they were afraid of math, I came to a fresh realization that if we can get more math teachers to accept and use blended learning to teach math, we would revolutionize math in school. The way our teachers met the needs of every group of students, the active learning of the students, and the personalization through online digital content made the math lessons full of rich, vigorous content and meaning. Below is a picture of a 1st grade class using blended learning!
