Afterschool programs are opportunities to enrich, personalize, individualize, differentiate, and to extend the school day to make it meaningful and purposeful. The only problem is where can you find an after school program that will and can provide these opportunities. Many after school programs are no more than a babysitting service to house students until the parents pick them up. During this time there is very little structure, focus, and students begin building poor study habits, homework habits not to mention the lack of social skills.
In order to avoid this pitfall we have taken a new approach to our after school program that will provide students with a great opportunity to extend their school day. See the screenshot below about permission slip to attend our program.
